On April 11th, 2020 around 01:45 hours Boston Police Officers assigned to area B-3 responded to Baird Street after a 911 caller claimed their house was broken into. The caller reported two black male subjects broke into the home and held the occupants at gunpoint. Shortly after this, officers initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle who’s occupants matched the description of the subjects from the break in, but also matched the vehicle description of a number of shots fired calls over the past few days including one from just a few blocks away earlier in the night.
During this stop, officers recovered an illegally possessed firearm off the driver of the vehicle. At this point the occupants of the car became aggressive towards police and additional units responded to assist. The driver was taken into custody and the gun was processed.
At this time it is not clear if any of the people in the car were connected to the break in or if the vehicle is connected to the past shots fired call. Regardless, the city of Boston is safer this morning with one less gun on the street. Strong work!
