Mission Hill MVA, 04/08/2020

On April 8th, 2020 at approximately 09:45 Boston Fire responded to 122 Calument Street in the Roxbury neighborhood of Mission Hill. On arrival companies located a silver SUV that had crashed into a home. Firefighters found that the foundation was severely damaged and the impact had caused an interior gas line to break. Due to the gas condition, the building, as well as the buildings on either side were evacuated. The driver of the vehicle was able to self extricate and was transported by Boston EMS to a local area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. All gas and power have been shut off to the building. National Grid, a Boston Inspectional Services and the Boston Fire Building Construction Unit were all called to scene. A total of 4 buildings ended up being evacuated by the end of the incident and 8 residents are expected to be displaced as a result of this incident.

Quick shout out to our MWN Manager Kathryn for the awesome photos!
