Roxbury Shootings, 04/16/2020

In the evening of April 16th, 2020 starting at approximately 18:00 hours Boston Police Officers responded to two calls for shots fired. One of these resulted in the recovery of a firearm and with two men taken into custody.

The first call shortly after 18:00 hours was originally heard from behind BPD Headquarters, with a Captain Radioing in the shots. Following the radio call a ShotSpotter activation for 11 rounds was entered for the area Station Street and Mindoro Street in the Mission Hill Neighborhood of Roxbury. Officer quickly responded and located multiple ballistics in the intersection. With the quick work and cooperation of multiple departments including MBTA Transit Police and Wentworth Police they were able to establish a suspect description and identify a suspect vehicle. The vehicle was located less than two blocks away from the incident with two subjects, who BPD seemed familiar with. Inside the vehicle a firearm was located and the two men were placed in custody.

Luckily there were no known victims at this time. Strong work by all responding officers and involved personnel. One less gun on the street tonight.
