At approximately 20:05 hours on April 15th, 2020 Boston Police Officers responded to a ShotSpotter activation in the area of Lawn Street on Mission Hill for 20+ shots fired. At approximately the same time 911 began receiving calls for a person shot in the Heath Street Projects.
Officers were able to locate a male subject in the area of 26-28 Walden Street between Horan Way and Health Street. The subject appeared to have been shot multiple times with some witnesses estimated as many as 8 times. Per the radio he was shot at least in the arm, leg, and back. Boston EMS Ambulance 12 arrived on scene with in minutes and quickly treated and transported the subject to a local area hospital. His wounds were reported as life-threatening-injuries at first, however he is believed to now be in stable condition at a local area hospital.
After speaking with witnesses and reviewing camera footage, BPD preformed a protective sweep and froze an apartment in the complex pending a search warrant. They also released a description of two possible shooters internally.
Detectives were called to the scene wich span the courtyard of the the projects and out into the street. Bloodied clothes, a wallet, shell casings and ballistic damage could be found all throughout the area, including multiple bullet holes in cars in the area. CSR could be seen placing evidence markers numbered as high as 38, with our estimates of at least 25 shell casings found on the scene.
