At approximately 17:00 hours, Tuesday April 21st, 2020, Boston Police Detectives from District B-2 executed a search warrant at the home of Charles Horton, a 42-years-old level three sex offender who has now changed their name to Charlese Horton. Horton was convicted back in the year 2000 for assault of child with intent to rape, indecent assault and battery on a child under 14 and kidnapping of a child under 16. At that time, he was merely sentenced to probation.
Horton resides at 7 Trull Street, a multi-family residence in Dorchester. Detectives recovered multiple firearms as seen in the images, as well as at least 20 evidence bags filled with items. In addition to normal precautions due to the current pandemic, Detectives could be seen wearing additional PPE.
Horton is being held pending arraignment on charges of Kidnapping and Assault by means of a Dangerous Weapon. It is alleged that on Tuesday, April 14, 2020, that Horton forced a juvenile male to meet him at a restaurant in the area of Seaver Street and Humboldt Avenue before forcing the child at gunpoint to the rear of a building in the area. Luckily while this was transpiring, a BPD unit passed, scaring Horton and allowing the boy to flee.
As this incident was investigated, a troubling pattern of attacks became clear with other incidents matching this attack as far back as October of 2019, involving other juvenile boys. The Boston Police Department continues to actively review the facts and circumstances surrounding this incident.
