At approximately 15:45 hours on May 3rd, 2020 Boston Police Officers assigned to District B-2 responded to the area of Malcom X Park for a ShotSpotter activation for 4-6 rounds. Shortly after the activation 911 began receiving call for a person shot at Dale Street and Obierne Place.
Officers located the victim who had been shot to the leg and quickly applied a tourniquet while awaiting EMS. Boston EMS arrived, promptly stabilizing and then transporting the man to a local area hospital with what are considered to be non-life-threatening injuries at this time.
Officers on scene quickly developed a preliminary suspect description of an African-American male wearing a black hoodie driving a moped. Police searched for the man as well as evidence utilizing multiple K-9 units, however were only able to locate ballistics at the top of the park near the basketball courts. Detectives processed the scene and the evidence was collected.
