On Sunday May 3rd at approximately 18:00 hours Boston Police and Boston EMS responded to a call for a large fight in the area of Thornton Street and Ellis Street in Roxbury. First arriving officers found an EDP (emotionally disturbed person) who was believed to be under the influence of drugs, combative and disoriented. EMS was requested for treatment and transport of the subject. While awaiting the arrival of EMS, another male driving a vehicle stopped behind police cruisers, began honking and screaming for the officers to move.
Officers approached the vehicle to speak with the individual, and the driver stepped out. Officers recognized the man as a subject with multiple open warrants who they had been searching for over the past few weeks. They immediately then took him into custody. When EMS arrived, the patient was restrained as he was a danger to himself and the EMS crew on scene. He was then transported to a local area hospital for treatment.
