While driving down Seaver Street at approximately 02:45 hours, a Boston Police K-9 duo were brutally rear ended. The K9 was uninjured however the handler had to be taken to a local area hospital.
The passenger of the vehicle that struck the Officer appeared to be unresponsive at first and Boston EMS responded. The woman who was intoxicated suffered from minor injuries and was transported to a local area hospital as well.
The driver of the vehicle appeared to be severely inebriated and confused when questioned by Police on scene. He refused both a field sobriety test as well as a breathalyzer and was placed into custody on suspicion of DUI. While being placed in a transport cruiser, an ankle monitor could clearly be seen.
Boston Police are confirming this morning that Vincent Norwood, 45, of Dorchester was driving the vehicle. He is charged with Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence of Alcohol and is expected to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court.
