At about 2:13 AM, on Sunday, September 6, 2020, officers assigned to District B-3 (Mattapan), made an onsite firearm arrest in the area of 647 Washington Street in Dorchester.
Officers observed a motor vehicle operating without their headlights illuminated. Officers activated their emergency lights and sirens to conduct a traffic stop. Officers approached the vehicle and made contact with the operator, later identified as, Roy Jaundoo, 44, of Randolph. Officers requested Jaundoo’s license and the vehicle’s registration to which Jaundoo stated he could not produce because it was a rental vehicle.
As officers conducted a query of the vehicle, they observed the rear passenger move from the driver’s side to the passenger side of the rear seat and then back behind the driver’s seat. Officers observed Jaundoo duck down in the driver’s seat and move towards the center console of the vehicle. All occupants were removed from the motor vehicle and officers recovered a loaded firearm from the center console. The Springfield Armory XDS 9x19mm, had one round in the chamber and five rounds in the magazine.
Jaundoo will be charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition and Armed Career Criminal. He is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court.
Jaundoo was arrested back in 2012 on charges of armed assault with intent to murder after a road rage incident turned violent in Milton and a 19 year old found himself being shot at from Jaundoo’s vehicle.
