Slow-Speed-Pursuit Yesterday in Boston

Overnight at approximately 03:26 hours Troopers from The Massachusetts State Police, H-9 Tunnels barracks attempted to stop a black BMW on I-93 Southbound just north of Exit 18. The vehicle stopped and when Troopers approached the driver and began speaking with him he took off from the stop.

Troopers followed his vehicle, with their lights and sirens activated, trying to get the man to pull over again, instead the man continued to fail to stop for the police. Additional agencies responded including Boston police and Boston University police to assist in the pursuit of the vehicle.

The man continued to flee from the police at approximately 20 mph past Mass Ave, down Melnea Cass Boulevard and onto Columbus Avenue before Troopers were able to trap his vehicle in the turnaround at Boston Police Headquarters.

The operator, who at first refused to open his door, was finally taken out of the vehicle and arrested by Troopers with out further incident. The operator has been identified by MSP as Stanley R. Williams, 37-years-old, of Everett. He is charged with Fail to stop for police; Speeding; Fail to stop/yield; and Marked lanes violation.
