Gunfight Leaves Dorchester Street Looking Like the O.K. Corral

At approximately 02:28 hours Boston Police Officers Assigned to District B-3 responded to the area of 68 Bernard Street in Dorchester for multiple ShotSpotter activations. On arrival Officers immediately noticed numerous cars with clear ballistic damage and an overwhelming amount of spent shell casings scattered thought out the area.

While responding to the Shots Fired call, units observed a dark colored vehicle with heavy front end damage fleeing in an erratic manner and at a high rate of speed. Officers attempted to stop it however were unsuccessful and made the decision to stop for the safety of everyone involved.

Detectives were called to the scene and a full search of the area located extensive ballistics throughout the street. Almost 40 evidence markers could be seen placed over the block and a half of where the shooting took place. At this time there were no reported injuries.

A short while later, after some thorough and skilled investigative work officers were able to locate the vehicle that was seen fleeing from the scene. The car was located on Browning Ave and matched the description perfectly. The vehicle additionally had a bullet hole centered on the driver seat as well as the projectile from a bullet lodged in the rear passenger seat.
