Daylight Stabbing at Tropical Foods Ends in On-site Arrest

At approximately 17:20 hours yesterday evening Boston Police Officers from District B-2 and Boston EMS EMTs responded to Tropical Foods at 450 Melnea Cass Boulevard in Roxbury near Dudley Square for the reported stabbing.

When Officers and EMTs arrived on scene they located a male employee of Tropical Foods who had been stabbed in the leg as well as another man being held down by other employees. The man being held down was quickly identified and confirmed as the assailant and taken into custody.

After speaking with witnesses and reviewing security camera footage the details of the incident became clear. After attempting to steal numerous items from the store, the victim confronted the assailant in front to store, a physical altercation ensued and in the melee the man was stabbed.

Detectives responded to the scene where they processed and photographed it. The man who was arrested was loaded into the police wagon and transported to the station for processing. At this time we were unable to get any information on his identity or charges when we contacted BPD however we will update once we can confirm his information.
