3-Alarm Fire in Dorchester

At approximately 19:27 hours Boston Fire Struck Box 1785, Howard Ave and Cunningham Street, for number 141 Howard Ave in Dorchester. A 2nd Alarm was issued by first arriving companies after they had heavy fire showing from multiple dwellings.

Shortly before 20:00 hours a 3rd Alarm was ordered as firefighters continued to fight the blaze. Pockets of fire continued to flare up in the roof and rafters as well as fire conditions on the second floor.

The fire was finally knocked down, with no major injuries to report. One firefighter was taken to a local area hospital by Boston EMS with minor injuries.

The Red Cross as well as Boston Neighborhood Services were called to the scene to assist with the 9 adults and 21 children who were displaced in the fire. The cause of the fire is still under investigation by BFD-FIU.
