Motorcycle Crash in South Boston

At approximately 18:45 hours Boston EMS, Boston Fire, Boston Police Officers from District C-6 and Troopers from The Massachusetts State Police responded to the intersection of O Street and Columbia Road for the reported Pedestrian Struck in Southie.

On arrival crews located an adult male with serious but non-life-threatening injuries laying in the road after he crashed his motorcycle. He was quickly cared for by EMTs with the assistance of Boston Fire and transported to a local area hospital.

After speaking with witnesses, we learned the man has been seen racing down the narrow road, weaving in and out of cars and blowing through red lights just before the crash. Speaking to one South Boston local who only wanted to be identified as Karen, she said, “that kid is honestly lucky like not killed a kid. I’m still in shock, my daughter had just crossed right before he got hit. It could have been her. He woulda been lucky to just be leaving with a broken leg if it had been her.”

The incident ended up being on Mass State Police jurisdiction, and Troopers towed the bike from the scene. It is unknown at any time if the driver will be facing any charges or what the official cause of the accident was determined to be.
