Sunday Night Shooting Leaves One Dead in Roxbury

At about 12:09am on Sunday, October 25, 2020, officers assigned to District B-2 (Roxbury) responded to a radio call for a ShotSpotter activation in the area of 18 Dunreath Terrace in Roxbury. On arrival, officers located an adult male victim suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. The victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased on scene. The victim, although Police would not confirm, has now been identified by family and friends as Earl Mejia Jr. born on February 10th 1996 and a well known resident of Boston.

The Boston Police Department is actively reviewing the facts and circumstances surrounding this incident and is asking anyone with information relative to this investigation to contact Boston Police Homicide Detectives at (617) 343-4470.
