At approximately 02:20 in the early morning of November 5th, Boston Fire struck the Box for 1740 Dorchester Ave in Dorchester. First arriving companies reporting heavy fire showing from a taxpayer and a second alarm was ordered.
A heavy smoke condition was reported to have extended into the row of tax payer buildings. All companies were working to not only knock down the flames but also prevent extension into the other buildings. After about an hour, the flames were knocked down and companies moved into the overhaul stages.
Damages were reported to be in the range of approximately $300,000. Boston EMS was on stand by in the case of injuries however there were lucky none to report. The cause of the blaze is still under investigation by Boston FIU.
