Boston Fire Quickly Knock Down Blaze in Dorchester

At approximately 11:00 hours yesterday, the Boston Fire Department struck Box 3323, Bowdoin Street and Oakley Street, for 22 Oakley Street in Dorchester. Fire Alarm received numerous calls for smoke coming from the rear roof of the building.

First arriving companies confirmed smoke showing and went to work. Firefighters found the source of the smoke as a small fire on the third floor, which they quickly were able to knock down successfully preventing its spread. Companies continued an extensive overhaul to make sure the flames had not spread.

Boston EMS was on scene standing by in case of injuries, however luckily none were reported. At this time the cause of the fire is still under investigation by FIU, and a damage estimate is unavailable.
