Boston Police and Fire Save Man from Burning Home Tuesday

At approximately 05:20 hours Tuesday Morning Boston Police Officers and Boston Fire companies responded to 140 Savannah Avenue in Mattapan. First arriving officers and companies found heavy smoke showing from the building and immediately jumped into action.

The resident was able to be extricated from the home with only minor injuries. Boston EMS EMTs and Paramedics quickly started caring for the man and transported him to a local area hospital with some minor smoke related issues. Boston Police Officers from District B-3 continued to help firefights, some even seen dragging hoses to help get water onto the fire.

After a fast attack the fire was knocked down with out further issues or damage. Boston Fire Officials estimate damages to be roughly $150,000 with FIU still investigating the cause of the blaze.
