Woman Found on Fire in Hyde Park Neighborhood

Early Thursday morning around 03:30 hours Boston Fire responded to the area Mattakeeset Street and Topalian Street in Hyde Park for the reports of an outside trash fire. Upon further information Boston EMS was dispatched for a person possibly on Fire.

When Firefighters arrived on scene they located an adult female fully engulfed, and they were quickly able to extinguish the victim. Boston EMTs and Paramedics quickly transported the woman to a local burn center where she is reportedly being treated for 3rd degree burns covering over 80% of her body.

Due to the extent of her injuries Boston Police in partnership with Boston Fire FIU made full notifications with District Detectives, the Homicide Unit and the Crime Scene Response Unit all being called to the scene. Investigators could be seen focused on a section of the sidewalk that was charged and a pair of shoes remained behind.

We have continued to seek comment or information on this incident however we have been unable to get confirmation on more than the initial incident. At this time the cause or intention of the fire is still unknown.
