Man Left Clinging to Life After Snowy MVA on Blue Hill Ave

Last night at approximately 17:19 hours Boston Police Officers from District B-3, Boston EMS EMTs and Paramedics, and Boston Fire responded to reports of a pedestrian struck by a car in the area of 618 Blue Hill Ave Near Stash’s Pizza.

When the first responders arrived, they located in adult male unresponsive on the ground with serious injuries. He was immediately rushed to a local area trauma center by Boston EMS.

Due to the severity of his injuries, the decision was made to make full notifications with District Detectives, the Homicide Unit, the Crime Scene Response Unit, the District Attorney’s Office, and the Fatal Collision Investigation Team all called in to the scene.

As snow continued to fall, investigators began to examine the closed off strip of road where the accident occurred. Witnesses on scene told us that the man seem “really f**ked up” but that the diver of the the vehicle who struck him did stop, render aid and wait for police to arrive. Investigators could be seen marking off sections of the pavement where evidence of the crash remained behind.

A pool of blood, the victims gloves and parts of the car that struck him could be seen scattered in the road. Due to the inclement weather and snow, and the traffic impact of the road closure, investigators marked the scene with nails and paint in order to allow them to return and measure and complete their investigation at a later time.
