Good Policing by C-11 Leads to Another Gun Off the Streets

At about 5:50 PM on Friday, January 8, 2021, officers assigned to District C-11 (Dorchester) responded to a radio call for a suspicious vehicle parked in the driveway of 108 Adams Street in Dorchester. Upon arrival, officers observed a motor vehicle that contained two occupants. The operator was later identified as Robert Stafford, 27, of Charlestown.

The two occupants did not know any of the residents who reside at 108 Adams Street. Officers performed a CJIS inquiry on both occupants and it revealed that there was an active warrant closely matching the name and date of birth of Robert Stafford.

As officers safely removed Stafford from the vehicle, they recovered a loaded Taurus G3C 9mm firearm with one round in the chamber and eleven rounds in the magazine from Stafford’s sweatpants. Officers also recovered various boxes of ammunition from the motor vehicle. Stafford was arrested and charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm and Unlawful Possession of Ammunition. He is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court.
