Early Thursday morning, at approximately 03:00 hours the Boston Fire Department responded to Box 1842, Dorchester Ave and Sudan Street for number 53 Sudan Street for multiple calls reporting a structure fire.
First arriving companies reported heavy fire showing and a second alarm was quickly ordered. Boston EMS EMTs and Command Staff responded as well to stand by as the building appeared to be occupied. Shortly after, a third alarm was ordered as fire continued to ravage the building.
After a long battle with the blaze, the main body of the fire was knocked down and the extensive overhaul that would last late into the morning. Also on hand was Boston Fire FIU to investigate the cause of the fire.
There additionally there was some exposure damage to other buildings neighboring the structure however they were still habitable. A total of four residence were displaced with the Massachusetts Red Cross assisting with their relocation. Damages from the fire are believed to be over $1 Million dollars.
