Three EMTs Hospitalized After Ambulance Roll Over in Brighton

On Sunday, January 31, 2021, at approximately 13:05 hours, Troopers from the State Police Boston Barracks responded to a report of an ambulance that rolled over on Western Avenue in the vicinity of the intersection of Western Avenue and Leo M. Birmingham Parkway in Brighton. The preliminary investigation revealed that an Armstrong ambulance was traveling with emergency lights and siren activated when it collided with a passenger vehicle in the intersection of Western Avenue and Leo M. Birmingham Parkway in Boston.

The ambulance was occupied by three emergency medical technicians, but no patients, at the time of the crash. The crash resulted in minor injuries to EMTs who were in the ambulance. The three EMTs were transported to area hospitals. The crash remains under investigation, no further information is available at this time. The two occupants of the involved passenger vehicle also sustained minor injuries in the crash.

One of the occupants of the passenger vehicle was transported to an area hospital, while the other occupant of the passenger vehicle was treated at the scene and released. The involved vehicles have been towed from the scene and normal flow of traffic has been restored in the intersection of Western Avenue and Leo M.
