Stolen Car Recovered and One in Custody after Methadone Mile Chase

Overnight at approximately 03:15 hours Boston Police Officers assigned to District D-4 and B-2 attempted to stop a stolen motor vehicle in the area of Mass Ave and Melnea Cass Blvd, the epicenter of the lawless, crime ridden, open air drug bazaar known as Methadone Mile where decency seems non-existent and the chaos of drug abuse rains free.

Officers activated their emergency lights and sirens in an attempt to pull over the vehicle, however the driver chose instead to flee. His desperate attempt at freedom was short lived, he quickly found himself crashed into a fence at the intersection of Island St and Gerard St, where he then decided his best bet would be to flee on foot. Again this did not work out well in his favor.

Less than a block away at the Cross Town Garage, Officers cornered the man and after a short struggle he was taken into custody with out incident. Boston Police have now identified the suspect as 38-year-old Keon Boggs of Boston, a homeless resident of Marty Walsh’s Methadone Mile. Boggs faces the following charges:

  • Receiving a Stolen Motor Vehicle
  • Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle
  • Failure to Stop for Police
  • Resisting Arrest
  • Motor Vehicle Lights Violation
  • Improper Operation of a Motor Vehicle
  • Speeding
