Yesterday evening after a months long investigation by the Drug Enforcement Administration’s New England Field Division, with assistance from the Boston Police Department arrested three men on narcotics related charges.
According to federal documents, agents conducted multiple undercover “buys” where they purchased large amounts (over 100 grams) of narcotics. The investigation came to a head with a raid at the Doubletree Hotel around 19:00 hours on Thursday.
Agents and Officers could be seen going in and out of the hotel with multiple men in custody as well as DEA evidence boxes. According to Federal and local sources, the following people are who have been changed.
Juan Bautiasta Vargas of Dorchester: (Charged Federally & Locally)
-Possession of fentanyl with intent to distribute
-Possession of cocaine
-Trafficking of Cocaine in +200 grams
Daniel Lennon, 31 of Boston: (Charged Federally)
-Manufacturing of methamphetamine
-Possession with intent to distribute
-Distribution of methamphetamine, over 50 grams
Nelkin Lara-Arias, 21 of Dorchester: (Charged Locally)
-Drug possession, class A c94C.34
Due to on-going operation security issues all federal argents as well as DCU member’s identities have been disrupted in the images per a request from the Department of Justice. No further information is available at this time.
