Another Vicious Stabbing at the Southampton Street Shelter on Methadone Mile

Yesterday evening, shortly before 18:00 hours, Boston Police Officers from District C-6, Boston Health Commission Police and Boston EMS responded to the Boston City Shelter at 112 Southampton Street for the reports of a person stabbed. Officers originally on-sighted a fight in the area of the shelter however when Officers finally were able to make their way through the crowd of homeless, they found a man who had been stabbed to the back with no suspect in sight.

Thankfully Boston EMS was on scene within seconds, the quick thinking clinicians use what can only be described as battlefield medicine, stabilized the victim of this vicious methadone mile assault. It’s unclear who or what was used to stab the victim but sources tell us the male victim was bleeding out and without the quick arrival of EMS he surely would’ve died on scene.

Miraculously by the time the victim arrived at the hospital, he had been stabilized with his condition in fair standing. Once believe to be life-threatening, he is now expected to make a full recovery.

Out of an abundance of caution and due to the seriousness of the victims state on scene, full notifications were made with Homicide Detectives, the Crime Scene Response Unit and District Detectives all responding to the scene. After a canvas of the area a knife was located where it is believed that the assailant fled. At this time no arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing. No further information is available at this time.
