At about 11:26 PM on Saturday, February 20, 2021, officers assigned to District A-1 (Downtown) responded to a radio call for a person stabbed in the area of 280 Friend Street, Boston (Hotel Indigo). On arrival, officers located a male victim suffering from an apparent stab wound. The victim was transported by Boston EMS to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
Allegedly, a dispute between a couple and a family member turned violent inside of the Hotel Indego just feet away from newly constructed TD Garden plaza. The result was tragic. It is believed that when the argument escalated, the man stabbed his girlfriend’s brother to death in a violent fit of rage. Officers arrested Ren A. Rodgers, 23, of Hollis, NH and charged him with Murder. He is expected to be arraigned in Boston Municipal Court.
