Monday afternoon around 16:00 hours Boston Fire responded to reports of a structure fire in the area of Rosseter Street in Dorchester. On arrival crews reported heavy fire showing with flames visible from the first floor. As additional companies arrived on scene they continued to battle the blaze and kept it contained to the first floor with minimal extension however at that point there was serious smoke damage to the rest of the building.
Boston EMS was on scene however no injuries have been reported at this time. Damages are estimated to be approximately $500,000 and the cause of the fire is still under investigation by Boston FIU. A total of 5 adults, 5 children. 2 dogs and a cat were all displaced, with MA Red Cross helping the family in the meantime. No further information is available at this time.
