Quick Acting Troopers Save Passengers from Burning Car Sunday

Sunday morning at approximately 00:15 hours, Troopers from the Massachusetts State Police H-9 Tunnel Barracks responded to reports of a minor crash with possible injuries in the area of I-93 North before the Charlestown exit. When troopers arrived, they found a two car accident in the right travel lane. The driver of the vehicle in the front was suffering from what appeared to be a medical emergency – possibly the cause of the crash, and the car in the rear was smoking and possibly on fire.

Troopers jumped into action, quickly removing all occupants and moving everyone back just in time before the car combusted, becoming fully engulfed in flames. Boston Fire and Boston EMS responded and were quickly able to extinguish the fire and transport the ill driver without incident. Luckily for all involved, the quick acting troopers were able to get everyone to safety before what could have been a much more serious incident occurred.
