Early Morning Shooting that left Victim with Serious Injuries Is expected to Survive

Early this morning, around 01:30 hours, C-6 units in the area of Columbia Road and Mass Ave. reported hearing shots fired. The sounds were echos from roughly a mile away where a ShotSpotter was activated in the area of Magnolia Street and Quincy Street.

Officers from B-2 units responded and thanks to the ShotSpotter, were able to locate a victim in the area of Wayland Street and Magnolia Street. The victim, an adult male, was shot at least once in what appeared to be his bottom with an exit wound in his stomach. Thanks to the quick actions of officers and Boston EMS the man is expected to survive.

Officers established the crime scene nearly two blocks away while the victim was immediately transported with serious injuries – with latest reports expecting that the victim will survive. Over 10 rounds of ballistic evidence were recovered at 195 Magnolia Street. Detectives processed ballistic evidence accordingly and have opened an investigation.
