Serious Single Car Accident Sends Man to Hospital in Mattapan

Approximately 01:45 hours this morning, calls for a one car motor vehicle accident were made after the operator crashed into a clearly marked, coned off area that housed construction materials on the side of the road in the area of Harvard Street and Fayban Street in Mattapan.

Bystanders found the man unconscious, laying outside the vehicle, covered in blood. Boston Police from District B-3, Boston EMS, and Boston Fire were all called, with BFD arriving first on scene.

The Boston Fire Department began rendering aid, deeming the man to have serious but non-life-threatening injuries. Witnesses reported that the man seemed erratic and possibly intoxicated, but these accounts have not yet been confirmed. Boston EMS transported the man to a local area trauma center to treat his injuries. There has been no update on his current status.
