Shots Fired In South End Leads To Recovered Firearm and One Under Arrest

Shortly before 21:00 hours Wednesday night, Boston Police Officers of District D-4 responded to the area of 193 Warren Avenue in the South End, for a ShotSpotter activation and numerous 911 calls for reports of shots fired.

Units responded and located multiple spent shell casings on the stoop of a Warren Ave Brownstone as well as the surrounding street. On scene, witnesses provided officers with a detailed suspect description of the shooter, ultimately leading to the stop of a male suspect who was positively determined to be the shooter, and later identified as Lamar Stanford, aged 28, of Boston.

A loaded Taurus G2C 9mm firearm, containing three live rounds and one round jammed in the ejection port, was recovered from his right pocket, and an arrest was made in the area of 430 Columbus Avenue. He is expected to be arraigned in Boston Municipal Court after being charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, and Firearm Discharged within 500 Feet of a Dwelling.
