Sunday morning at approximately 01:30 hours, Boston Police Officers assigned to District C-6 conducted a traffic stop of an SUV in the stretch of Mass & Cass. Officers noticed the car and its erratic operation which prompted them to active their lights.
Instead of stopping, the car fled the stop at a high rate of speed, causing officers to pursue until the vehicle began driving the wrong way up a one way, at which point they backed off. The vehicle eventually crashed at the intersection of Edison Green and Dorchester Avenue.
The driver and passenger both suffered minor injuries, as well as the poor driver they crashed into. The operator of the motor vehicle was arrested on the scene on numerous charges. Boston Police have confirmed he is a 17-year-old juvenile from Lowell, and will be criminally charge with unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, reckless operation of a motor vehicle, and failure to stop for police. In addition to the criminal charges, the operator will be cited for the following traffic offense, speeding, red light violations, wrong way on a one way, and numerous more. Boston EMS evaluated all three involved however it is unknown if anyone was transported to the hospital.
