At approximately 20:00 hours Friday night, Boston EMS, Boston Fire, and East Boston Police received calls for a rollover with entrapment on Waldemar Avenue in East Boston.
First responders arrived on scene to find a silver Chevy with a badly smashed front end with only a driver inside the vehicle. Boston Fire used the jaws of life to remove the driver.
While details have not yet been confirmed, it is thought that the driver was having a medical emergency at the time. They were transported to MGH with serious but non-life-threatening injuries, and the cause of the crash is still under investigation.
