SUV Sent Flying Over 40 Foot Cliff in Franklin Park

Tuesday morning, shortly after midnight, Boston EMS, Boston Fire, and Boston Police responded to Franklin Park for the reports of a serious motor vehicle accident. Units arrived at Franklin Park and were initially unable to locate a vehicle. After canvasing the area, they located a white Ford Explorer about 100 yards from the road – down roughly a 40 foot drop.

The vehicle appeared to have careened over the cliff after first striking a tree. First responders immediately went to the vehicle, saw alarming amounts of blood, but no occupants. Officers ran the license plate to find that it had been a wanted vehicle from a hit and run of a police officer’s vehicle earlier in the day in Boston.

While still investigating the scene of the crash, Officers received word that a 17 year old female had shown up at Tufts Medical with injuries consistent with that of a major MVA and that she reported it happening in the same area. At this time, the investigation is still under way by the District B-2 Auto Investigator.
