Thursday morning, shortly before 01:00 hours, Boston Police Officers assigned to District B-2 responded to the H-Block Neighborhood of Roxbury for a ShotSpotter activation of 12 rounds.

While Officers were racing to the scene, they were updated that a woman had been shot in the midst of the crossfire. On arrival, they located the female victim and observed an apparent gunshot wound to the hand that occurred while she was in her car.

Boston EMS arrived to evaluate the gunshot victim – ultimately transporting her to a local area trauma unit with non-life-threatening injuries. Boston Police continued to canvass the scene, locating multiple spent shell casings along with ballistic damage to a nearby security patrol vehicle on the street.

District Detectives were called in to photograph and collect ballistic evidence. The incident is still currently under investigation, with no arrests being made or further information released.
