Approximately 02:30 hours this morning, the Boston Fire Department responded to 52 Nixon Street in Dorchester for a structure fire.

Smoke was showing on the second floor when companies arrived to the address of the fire, and they quickly determined that there was a fire within the walls. It was immediately knocked down with extensive overhaul.

The potential damages have not yet been determined. At least 6 residents were displaced, and Boston EMS was on scene to stand by along with the Red Cross of Massachusetts to assist the residents with shelter. At this time the cause of the fire is still under investigation by Boston FIU.
