Luck is on Boston’s Side as Bullets Fly Across Boston but Thankfully Miss Their Targets

Overnight Officers from all over the city of Boston responded to numerous calls to service, including multiple calls for shots fired. Nearly 50 rounds were recovered in just the four calls alone. The city was truly lucky, as not one victim was located in what could be considered a miracle. Here’s our cliff notes on the night:

Wednesday, May 12 at approximately 21:00 hours:

At approximately 21:00 hours, Police Officers assigned to District B-3 responded to a 911 caller as well as ShotSpotter activation for at least 19 rounds. Units responded to Wales Street, in Dorchester, and found no victims or suspects in the area. Over 20 rounds were located, and District Detectives responded to the scene to process ballistic evidence. No further information is available and the investigation is ongoing.


Wednesday, May 12 at approximately 23:15 hours:

A little over two hours later, Boston Police Officers from District B-2 responded to Charlame Place, in Roxbury, for a 911 caller and ShotSpotter activation. Units responded and found no victims or suspects, but did find a car with extensive ballistic damage including 5 rounds. A total of more than 15 rounds were located throughout the scene, processed by District Detectives for Roxbury. No arrests have been made and no further information is available at this time.


Thursday, May 13 at approximately 01:30 hours:

In the early hours of Thursday morning, Officers from District C-11 as well as B-3 responded to the area of Washington Street and Bailey Street in the C-11/B-3 line for a ShotSpotter of approximately 6-7 rounds. A 911 call was also made to the area, however when units responded and canvassed the scene, no ballistics were located.


Thursday, May 13 at approximately 02:30 hours:

Roughly 02:30 hours, Boston Police from District B-3, received a 911 call and ShotSpotter activation for 5 rounds in the area of Esmond Street. Units responded and located multiple spent shell casings in the street. Ballistic evidence was photographed and processed by District Detectives and the investigation is ongoing at this time with no arrests being made.
