Thursday afternoon, at approximately 14:45 hours, the Boston Fire Department and Boston EMS responded to Pier 4 Blvd. and Autumn Lane for reports of an injured construction worker multiple floors below grade while painting the basement level.
First responders arrived to find the victim had passed out while painting, causing him to fall off the scaffolding. He was deemed to have serious but non-life-threatening injuries. Boston Fire and EMS were able to get him out and transported to a local area hospital.
It was assumed he passed out due to the fumes, but there is no word yet on if there were any health and safety violations or OSHA issues. The investigation is ongoing, and no further information is available at this time.
