Shots Fired and Suspect Arrested within an Hour By C-11 Units

Wednesday morning, at approximately 02:00 hours, Boston Police Officers assigned to District C-11 responded to a ShotSpotter activation in the area of the rear of the station in Dorchester for a single round.

Units responded and located one spent shell casing. They proceeded to speak to witnesses in the area who stated that they saw a man in a silver Toyota sedan with a black fender, exiting his vehicle before taking a firearm out of a bag in the truck and firing one round before fleeing.

The round was collected and processed, and within an hour of the activation, other units were able to spot a vehicle with the exact description driving down Dorchester Ave. Officers stopped the vehicle and were able to locate the firearm exactly as it had been described – in a bag in the trunk of the vehicle.

Police Officers were able to place the man under arrest and he was taken into custody on various firearm related charges. Despite our own visual confirmation of an arrest made, Boston Police were unwilling to provide arrest details due to privacy concerns.
