Another Gunfire Packed Night Thursday

Thursday, MAY 13 AT APPROXIMATELY 19:30 HOURS:

At approximately 19:30 hours, Police Officers assigned to District B-2 responded to a ShotSpotter activation for at least 3 rounds. Units responded to Kensington Street, in Roxbury near Washington Street Park and MLK Blvd. No casings were recovered, however there was clear ballistic damage to a vehicle in the area. Witnesses as well as the occupants of the vehicle that was struck, reported the suspect vehicle was reported as a grey/silver sedan, with potential involvement of a scooter as well. The occupants off the car stated that they had heard someone run by screaming to get down, and ducked right before shots were fired. Detectives were called in to process the scene and photograph the blown out driver window. There were surprisingly no injuries, and as of late, they are believed to be unintended victims in the crossfire. No arrests have been made at this time, and the investigation is still ongoing.

Thursday, MAY 13 AT APPROXIMATELY 20:00 HOURS:

At 20:00 hours last night, Boston Police Officers assigned to District E-13 responded to Columbus Ave, in Jamaica Plain, for a ShotSpotter activation for 5 rounds. A Green Subaru was seen fleeing the area, and officers were able to locate spent shell casings in the school yard of the Hernandez School. No victims were located, and District Detectives were called in to photograph and process the ballistic evidence. No further information is available at this time.

Thursday, MAY 13 AT APPROXIMATELY 21:30 HOURS:

Shortly before 21:30 hours, Boston Police Officers received calls for a person hearing 4 shots fired in the area of Neponset Circle near the onramp to I-93 on Morrissey Blvd in Dorchester. Officers assigned to District C-11 responded and located spent shell casings next to a large homeless encampment. It is unsure if they were the intended target; however a witness says a man on a moped drove up to the area and fired off rounds. Another resident of the area said that mopeds and ATVs have been more prevalent since last summer, and have been seen recklessly driving in Pope John Paul Park as well as Sen. Joseph Finnegan Park in the Port Norfolk area close to where the shots were fired (a recurring theme with illegal off-road vehicles throughout the city as of late). Detectives processed the scene, however no arrests have been made and no further information has been released.

Thursday, MAY 13 AT APPROXIMATELY 23:00 HOURS:

Right before 23:00 hours, Boston Police Officers from District B-2 responded to both calls for shots fired as well as a ShotSpotter activation of 3 rounds in the area of 95 Coleus Park in Dorchester near Intervale Street. The call made for shots fired reported yet another shooter on a moped with two males riding it. Officers raced to the area but were unable to locate suspects or ballistics. No further information.

Friday, MAY 14 AT APPROXIMATELY 01:00 HOURS:

Early Friday morning, right after 01:00 hours, Boston Police Officers assigned to District C-11 responded to the area of 11 Coleman Street, off Quincy Street, for a ShotSpotter activation of 8 rounds. Officers responded and located ballistics, but no victims or suspects in the area. District Detectives were called in to process the scene, and ballistic evidence was photographed and cataloged. No further information is available at this time.
