Major MVA Leaves Officer Severely Injured Monday Morning in Roxbury

Monday morning, shortly after 03:00 hours, Boston Police Units from C-11 responded to a service call at a CVS after an incident inside of the store. The suspects of that incident fled in an SUV which officers quickly located. When units attempted to pull over the vehicle fled at a high rate of speed with units right behind them.

The chase was called off by Command Staff, and units disengaged their lights and sirens but continued canvassing the area of Blue Hill Ave and Dudley St. where the vehicle had last been seen. While searching the area, a unit driving down Blue Hill Ave collided with the suspect vehicle as it flew threw the lights at the intersection and into the lane of traffic.

As the call for help came in over the radio units across both Districts B-2 and C-11 began flying to the scene. When they arrived they found a terrifying sight. The marked cruiser was smashed, and the Officer seriously injured. The suspect vehicle was also damaged with two occupants still inside, while the third suspect fled on foot, leaving their friends behind.

Boston EMS responded to the scene and transported the Officer with serious injuries as well as the two other occupants. The District Auto Investigator as well as the Crime Scene Response Unit both responded to the scene to document the crash. At this time no further information is available however it is believed that all involved parties will eventually make a recovery from their injuries.

Again, the Department has yet to provide any update on the Officer’s condition, official cause of the crash, where the investigation stands or any other relevant information. If we manage to get further we will provide it.
