Search Warrant Leads to Recovery of Numerous Firearms in Mattapan Home Connected to Monday Night Shooting

At about 8:18 PM on Monday May 17, 2021, officers assigned to District B-3 (Mattapan) arrested 21-year-old Kelvin Gonzalez (AKA Kelvin Pimentel) from Boston on firearm related charges after responding to a call for shots fired in the area of 115 Wellington Street in Mattapan. Officers recovered several spent shell casings on scene and observed ballistic damage to a parked motor vehicle but were unable to locate any victims.

After the shots were fired, two males were observed fleeing the area on foot before running inside 90 Deering Road. Officers entered the residence to perform a protective sweep where they encountered four male parties, including the suspect, who matched the given description of one of the males seen fleeing the scene. Officers performed a pat frisk of the suspect which led to the recovery of two large capacity magazines containing a total of eighteen rounds of ammunition from his pants pockets at which time he was placed in custody without incident. The remaining three males on scene were FIO’d and released.

Officers then secured the residence pending the application for a search warrant which was later granted and executed, leading to the recovery of four handguns, numerous rounds of ammunition as well as a replica firearm air pistol.

Kelvin Gonzalez, who has since appeared in Dorchester District Court on charges of Unlawful Possession of Ammunition and Possession of a Large Capacity Feeding Device (2 Counts), will now face additional charges relating to this ongoing investigation.
