Friday afternoon, at approximately 13:50, Boston Police assigned to District A-1 were notified about a person shot in the area of 33 Arch Street in Downtown Crossing. Boston Police Officers arrived to the area and located the victim who had sustained a gunshot wound to the leg.
Police began investigating the incident and collecting information regarding the suspects, at which point they were told that it was two individuals on two red scooter/moped type vehicle. Around the same time. word was received on a red moped heading the wrong way down Washington Street. A police officer accompanied the victim to a local area hospital while other responding units shifted their attention to the scene as well as the suspects. A shell casing was located in the area of 387 Washington Street, concurrent with reports of red scooters being spotted in the area shortly after the incident.
The shooter and the second suspect fled in opposite directions; one down Washington Street with the other going toward School Street. The street was blocked off for a little over a half an hour before it was opened back up to traffic. The investigation is ongoing with no arrests having been made as of now.
