One Dead, Suspected Shooter in Custody After Overnight homicide

Boston Police Officers assigned to Area B-3 and Detectives from the Homicide Unit arrested Oscar L. Bolding, Jr., 42, of Dorchester, and charged him with Murder, Possession of a Loaded Firearm, Possession of Ammunition without an FID Card, 2nd Offense, and Possession of a Firearm without a License, 3rd Offense.  Bolding is expected to be arraigned in the Dorchester District Court today.

Circumstances Surrounding the Incident:  At about 8:04 PM on Monday May 24, 2021, officers assigned to District B-3 (Mattapan) responded to a call for a person shot in the area of 917 Blue Hill Avenue in Dorchester. On arrival, officers located an adult male victim suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he was later pronounced deceased.
