At approximately 23:15 hours late last night, Boston Police Officers assigned to District C-11 responded to the area of 8 Brinsley Street, in Dorchester, for reports of a person shot.
Once on scene, officers located a man in his late 30s that had clearly sustained a single gunshot wound to the chest. Boston EMS immediately transported him to a local area hospital with serious life-threatening injuries. Due to the severity of the injuries, full notifications were made. Witnesses alleged that the man was quietly sitting on his porch having a drink and smoking, when a single shot was fired and struck him in the chest.
Homicide Detectives, Command Staff, and the Crime Scene Response Unit responded along with District Detectives to collect evidence and process the scene. At this time no further information is available and no suspect description has been released.
