Man Rescued in Roxbury Thanks to BPD and BEMS

At approximately 19:00 hours yesterday, Boston Police Officers assigned to District B-2 received reports of an emotionally distressed person in the H-Block area of Roxbury, that was threatening to harm themselves.

Officers arrived to find the individual had barricaded themselves inside their home. Officers and SWAT assets were able to safely gain entry into the home to locate the man and get him to Boston EMS to be evaluated and seen for treatment.

Thankfully no injuries were reported and no major incidents occurred as a result of the threats. BPD used their training to help de-escalate the situation without the use of force that at times looked to be heading south for the man.
