At approximately 02:00 hours early Sunday morning, Boston Police Officers assigned to District B-3 (Mattapan) responded to the area of 1200 Blue Hill Avenue in Mattapan for reports of a person assaulted.
Boston Police units arrived first on scene where they found a victim laying on the sidewalk as a result of the assault. Boston EMS arrived 15 minutes later and transported the victim to a local area hospital where he was treated for what is assumed to be serious life threatening injuries given the additional response of Homicide Detectives and the Crime Scene Response Team.
Four hours later, at roughly 06:00 hours, Homicide Detectives and the Crime Scene Response Team were still processing the scene, collecting and photographing evidence. There has been no information released pertaining to the victim or the status of the investigation at this time.
