Monday night, at approximately 23:15 hours, Boston Fire responded to a 2 1/2 story residence at 61 Shepton Street, in Dorchester, for a fire that was in the ceiling of the first floor making its way to the top story.
All residents were safely evacuated, and a second alarm was ordered as companies began knocking down the fire. There were no injuries to report, with 3 adults and 3 children being displaced.
The estimated damages were thought to be in the $275,000 range. Red Cross of Massachusetts assisted the residents with shelter. At this time the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
