Yesterday afternoon, Boston Police Officers carrying out a detail in the busy area of High Street near South Station, were alerted to a distraught baby seagull that was in the middle of traffic.
Officers were able to stop traffic and safely rescue the baby bird before it was struck by the fast moving vehicles in the area. They were able to hold on to the bird until animal control was able to take over.
The bird is currently being cared for by MSPCA and is still alive thanks to the care and attention of BPD. It will be released back into the wild when it is deemed able to care for itself without being in danger.
